Up in the air

It all began around 1975, with the first kites in the skies of Altaussee, under which hung daring men who - so the story went - feared neither death nor the devil.
By 1977, hang gliding had become so popular that the Ausseerland Sports Flying Club was expanded to include a "hang gliding" section. Countless national and international competitions were also held on the Loser.
"Shreds and spruce condoms! A gliding performance of 1 to stone!" - In the beginning, han

g-gliders were not happy with the first paragliders. But as early as 1989, these were also accepted into the Altaussee club.
The sport has come a long way since then, and the first paragliders have little in common with today's ultra-modern gliders. But one thing has remained the same: The fascination of flying.
